The following Pokémon will be appearing in raids throughout August:

Five-Star Raids

The Legendary Pokémon Palkia, Zacian, and Zamazenta and the Mythical Pokémon Genesect will return to five-star raids this August!

Please note: Raid rotations all start and end at 10:00 a.m. local time on the dates listed unless otherwise noted.

  • Sunday, July 31, 2022, to Wednesday, August 10, 2022: Palkia
  • Wednesday, August 10, 2022, to Thursday, August 18, 2022: Genesect* (???)
  • Thursday, August 18, 2022, to Wednesday, August 31, 2022: Zacian and Zamazenta

*During this period, Genesect will have a different Drive than it had in its past Pokémon GO appearances. Stay tuned for more information!

Mega Raids

Mega Slowbro, Mega Ampharos, and Mega Abomasnow will appear in Mega Raids! But more surprises are in store…

  • Wednesday, August 17, 2022: Genesect* (???)
  • Wednesday, August 24, 2022: Zacian
  • Wednesday, August 31, 2022: Zamazenta

August Research Breakthrough Encounters

Stunfisk (Galarian)

Monday, August 1, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. PDT (GMT −7) to Wednesday, August 31, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. PDT (GMT −7) Galarian Stunfisk will be the featured research breakthrough encounter. If you’re lucky, you might encounter a Shiny one!

Pokémon Spotlight Hours

In the month of August, Pokémon Spotlight Hour will take place every Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. local time, and each will spotlight a different Pokémon and a special bonus!

Language Selection

Language selection will be rolling out this month!

Soon, Trainers will be able to change their language settings in Pokémon GO! Trainers will be able to play Pokémon GO in their language of choice, regardless of the language used on their device. The following languages will be available when this setting launches.

  • English
  • French
  • German
  • Italian
  • Japanese
  • Korean
  • Portuguese (Brazilian)
  • Russian
  • Spanish
  • Thai
  • Turkish
  • Traditional Chinese

Trainers will need to close and reopen Pokémon GO for any language changes to take effect.
