Pokémon GO Halloween 2022 Event: Part 1

Hello Trainers! Get ready for a two-part spooktacular Halloween event this year, with the debut of Mega Banette! Just like last year the Halloween event this year will be a 2 part event, and features a remix of the Lavender Town music, Halloween-themed special research, new in-game map look, and plenty of Ghost-type Pokémon spawning in the wild.

Pokémon GO Halloween 2022 is a two part event, with the first part starting on October 20th, 2022, and Part 2 starting on October 27, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. local time.

Shiny Debuts

For the first time in Pokémon Go shiny Galarian Yamask and shiny Noibat will be available. Shiny Noibat hatching from eggs will have a greater chance of being shiny than Noibat encountered in the wild.

Altered Forme Giratina

Giratina (Altered)

Giratina caught from Thursday, October 20, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. to Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. local time will know the featured attack Shadow Force Ghost.

Explore with decor

During both parts of the Halloween Event, PokéStops and Gyms will be decorated for the holiday. We hope you enjoy the colorful decor!

Lavender Town Music

A remix of the Lavender Town music will be playing nightly during this year’s Halloween event. Turn up your in-game sound to feel like you’re taking a stroll through Lavender town!

5 Star Raids – Giratina with Shadow Force

• From October 20 to October 27, 2022, Giratina Altered Forme will be appearing in Five-Star Raids.
• From October 27 to November 8, 2022, Giratina Origin Forme will be appearing in Five-Star Raids.

Giratina will appear in 5 Star raids from October 20, 2022, 10:00 am local time to November 1, 2022, 10:00 am local time, and any Giratina caught during that time will know the Charge move Shadow Force Ghost

Shadow Force will have the following stats:

• 120 power for Trainer Battles
• 140 power for Gym & Raid battles.

Mega Raids – Mega Banette

Banette (Mega)

Mega Banette will make its Pokémon GO debut, if you’re lucky you’ll encounter a shiny one!

Field Research

The following Pokémon will be available in Field Research Tasks. Complete certain field research tasks to get Mega Energy for the following Pokémon.

Avatar updates

During the event, the Spooky Pose found in the in-game shop will be updated to include movement–it will shamble forward! This update will apply to all future and past purchases of the Spooky Pose.

Halloween 2022 Special Research: Mysterious Masks

Willow and Rhi need your help with some Halloween-themed Special Research during this event! Along the way, you’ll learn more about Yamask and Galarian Yamask. 

Mysterious Masks Special Research will be available to claim from Thursday, October 20, 2022, at 10:00 am local time until Thursday, November 1, 2022, at 10:00 am local time.

In addition to the freely available Halloween-themed Mysterious Masks Special Research, there will be two separate paid tickets available for the event as well.

• For $1 US (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency, plus any applicable taxes and fees) you can purchase a ticket that will grant access to Timed Research featuring encounters with Yamask and Galarian Yamask.
• For $5 US (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency, plus any applicable taxes and fees) you can purchase a ticket that will grant access to Timed Research featuring increased candy bonuses, additional Halloween-themed tasks, an avatar pose, and Spiritomb.
