Detective Pikachu Event: Raids, Field Research and new Shiny

Detective Pikachu is snooping his way into Pokémon GO from May 7th, 2019 through May 17th, 2019. Some of the features for this event include Increased encounters with Pokémon seen in the movie, Detective Hat Pikachu photobombs, Detective Pikachu themed Raid Bosses and Field Research, Detective Pikachu avatar items available in the in-game shop, the chance to encounter shiny Aipom, and Double catch XP for ALL Pokémon caught.

Features
  • Increased encounters with Pokémon seen in the movie.
  • The chance to be photobombed by and catch a Pikachu wearing a detective hat!
  • Select Pokémon featured in the movie will appear in raids.
  • Specially themed Field Research will be available for a limited time during this event.
  • Themed avatar items will be available in the Style Shop.
Bonuses
  • If you are lucky, you may encounter Shiny Aipom.
  • Double Catch XP for ALL Pokémon caught.

As you can see, the event is a perfect time to farm XP and practice fast catching tons of Pokémon.

Increased Spawns

The following Pokémon spawns will be increased during the event. Most of the Pokémon that appear in the movie will show up more frequently in the wild.

Detective Hat Pikachu Photobomb

Pikachu will once again be photobombing you! Trainers will have the chance to be photobombed by and catch a Pikachu wearing a detective hat!

Special Field Research

As of now it unknown if a complete Raid Boss shakeup will happen or if it will be just a few more Bosses added to the existing Raid pool. Keep checking back, as we will update as soon as we know what the Raid Bosses and Field Research are.
