Pokemon GO Evolving Stars Event

Get cosmic with a brand new event in Pokémon GO, the Evolving Stars event! We’re celebrating Pokémon evolutions, and the variety of ways in which different Pokémon evolve, with a special focus on Cosmoem, the Protostar Pokémon.

The event features exclusive Field Research and Collection Challenges, all focused on the evolution phenomena in Pokémon.

The Season of Light Story Continues

Cosmog’s story will continue on throughout the Season of Light, and a new part of this research will unlock during the Evolving Stars event. Complete this next step to carry on your stellar adventure with Cosmog.

Cosmoem Debut

Cosmoem

Trainers will be able to evolve their Cosmog into Cosmoem by using 25 Cosmog candy. Don’t worry that you are having to evolve your only Cosmog, rumour has it that you will have the opportunity to encounter more Cosmog in the distant future.

Five-Star Raids

Yveltal will appear in raids until October 8, 2022 10:00am local time.
Xerneas will appear in raids from October 8, 2022 10:00 local time.

Mega Raids

Mega Lopunny will appear in raids until October 8, 2022 10:00am local time.
Mega Manectric will appear in raids from October 8, 2022 10:00 local time.

Mega Gyarados Raid Day

Gyarados (Mega)

On Saturday 8 October, 2022 from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm local time, Mega Gyarados will appear more frequently in raids. You can find out more about defeating Mega Gyarados here: Mega Gyarados Raid Counters Guide.

You can receive up to 5 additional raid passes by spinning photo discs at gyms
You'll have an increased chance of encountering Shiny Gyarados

Collection Challenge

There are four collection challenges focused on evolving Pokémon during the Evolving Stars event. Complete each challenge to earn Evolution items connected to Pokémon featured in the Challenge.

Eevee Challenge

Evolve Eevee to Vaporeon, Jolteon and Flareon to earn an Upgrade and a Metal Coat. See our Pokémon GO Eevee Evolution Guide for more information on Eevee.

Trade Challenge

Evolve Gengar (from Haunter) and Alakazam (from Kadabra) to earn Dragon Scale, Sunstone and Kings Rock.

Unova Challenge

Evolve Eelektrik (from Tynamo) and Lampent (from Litwick) to earn 2x 2 Unova Stone.

Sinnoh Challenge

Evolve Rhydon (from Rhyorn), Piloswine (from Swinub), Kirlia (from Ralts), and Dusclops (from Duskull) to earn 4x Sinnoh Stone.

Evolution Cup

Pokémon must be below 1500 CP to enter battles.
Only Pokémon that have evolved once, and can evolve again, will be eligible. AKA middle evolutions only!
